Grenada moved from a 12-school micro-pilot to a full 2025/26 rollout of the OECS's Digital Harmonised Primary Curriculum, which gives primary teachers AI-powered lesson planners and digital resource repositories across the Eastern Caribbean.
The OECS developed the Digital OECS Harmonised Primary Curriculum (D-OHPC), a Kindergarten-to-Grade-6 curriculum bundling AI-powered lesson planners, virtual classrooms and digital resource repositories, built with more than 150 educators from eight member states. In Grenada, the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports ran a 12-school micro-pilot before launching a full pilot for the 2025/26 school year in October 2025.
Principals at participating schools, including Grand Roy Government School and Mt Pleasant Government School in Carriacou, used the AI lesson-planning tools in everyday teaching, describing them as helpful for lesson preparation and delivery, particularly at smaller, harder-to-staff island schools.
The evidence to date is qualitative — principal and ministry testimonials rather than published test scores or independent evaluation of learning gains — and depends on device and connectivity access that varies between Grenada's mainland and outer islands such as Carriacou.
