In Bahrain's first schoolwide AI-tutoring trial, 160 students at the British School of Bahrain used the Inspired AI adaptive-learning platform; participants gained 4.6 percentage points on average (10.6pp in Biology, 9.4pp in Chemistry), prompting a wider school rollout.
The British School of Bahrain (BSB) in Hamala piloted Inspired AI, an adaptive-learning platform built by its parent group Inspired Education, with a cohort of 160 students from September 2023 — announced as a national first for Bahrain. Inspired AI begins with diagnostic testing across English, Maths and Science, then generates individualised exercise pathways with real-time analytics for teachers and parents.
Participating BSB students improved by 4.6 percentage points on average, with Biology (+10.6pp) and Chemistry (+9.4pp) showing the largest gains. A parallel measurement across Inspired's wider 2023 rollout — 14,000+ students in 26 schools across 12 countries, including BSB — reported an average 8.12-percentage-point gain, with 84.5% of students saying the tool helped their learning, 85.31% willing to recommend it, and 80.18% of teachers finding it a helpful learning tool.
Following the pilot, BSB extended Inspired AI to its wider school community. The results have not been independently peer-reviewed; they come from company and school press communications rather than an external evaluator, and BSB is a fee-paying international school, so the findings say little about impact in under-resourced public-school settings.
