LexAI — Uzbekistan's State-Run AI Legal Assistant for Legislative Research and Drafting

In 2024, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Justice, through its Legal Information Center, began building LexAI, described as the country's first state-run legal AI assistant. Integrated into the national Lex.uz legislative database, LexAI combines a citizen- and lawyer-facing chatbot, a "document builder" for drafting legal texts, and an automated review service for new regulatory acts, with a full public launch targeted for January 2025.
To power its responses, LexAI's developers analysed more than 34,000 current regulatory documents over roughly five months. Information Technologies Minister Sherzod Shermatov presented the platform as part of a presidential directive to integrate AI "across all sectors" of government, and the Ministry of Justice's Legal Information Center describes it as the first state-run legal AI assistant built into the Lex.uz ecosystem.
