Tamkeen's National AI Skills Training Programme — Bahrain's Path to 50,000 AI-Skilled Citizens by 2030

Tamkeen, Bahrain's semi-autonomous Labour Fund, opened enterprise registration in 2025 for a national AI Training Programme that aims to equip 50,000 Bahrainis with artificial-intelligence skills by 2030, as part of Tamkeen's wider 2025 strategic priorities to boost private-sector competitiveness.
The programme runs through three tracks delivered by local and international training providers: Executive Leadership in AI for administrators and executives; General AI Skills covering automation, data analysis and AI-assisted productivity for the broader workforce; and AI Specialist Training to build and deploy AI tools. Tamkeen also partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch a related AI-skills track for Bahraini talent, announced at the Gateway Gulf investment forum.
As of publication, Tamkeen has not released completion numbers, assessment results or employment outcomes for the programme, which is still in its rollout phase; the 50,000-by-2030 figure is a stated target rather than a measured result, so this practice should be read as a well-funded, clearly structured national commitment whose impact remains to be evidenced over the coming years.
