Context

Cambodia needed a way for citizens and institutions to authenticate driving licences, degree certificates and IDs without visiting an office, as part of its Digital Policy 2022-2035.

Activities

MPTC built Verify.gov.kh, a QR-code, blockchain and AI-based document authentication platform, integrated with the DG SuperApp for services such as digital driving licences.

Results

By 2026 the platform reached 16-24 ministries and 31 educational institutions, verified more than 4 million documents, and is estimated to save about $6 million a year on Bac II certificate authentication alone across 100,000+ graduates.

Conclusions

The platform has expanded internationally (adopted for the Philippines' national ID system, launched in Timor-Leste, under way in Laos), but the AI component itself is not separately verified in public sources.
