VioEdu, an AI-driven adaptive learning platform built by Vietnamese IT conglomerate FPT Software (FPT Corporation), launched on 27 August 2019 with a pilot across several primary schools in Hanoi. According to FPT's own figures, republished by state newspaper Nhân Dân, about 2,000 students used the platform for three to six months and 73.8% were assessed by their teachers as showing significant progress; FPT separately claims the platform's knowledge-graph-based adaptive learning path cuts study time by 30-50%.
The platform has since scaled well beyond its pilot: by August 2025, FPT IS reported nearly 30 million cumulative users and around 10 million active K-12 users, with partnerships covering roughly 50 of Vietnam's 63 provincial Departments of Education and Training, and an annual "VioEdu Arena" competition reaching about 3.5 million students. In November 2025, VioEdu was formally partnered with the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES), a government research body, to launch "Vio Global Champion", aligned to PISA/TIMSS standards.
The pilot's 73.8% progress figure and the 30-50% time-saving claim are company-originated and republished, not independently re-derived — no control group, published methodology or third-party academic evaluation of VioEdu specifically was found. The platform's continued growth and a 2025 government-institute partnership are, however, independently corroborated years after launch by unrelated outlets (VnExpress, VietnamNet), indicating real sustained reach rather than a one-off promotional pilot.
