Evidence snapshot for Beirut
Beirut Digital District has expanded from 17,500 m² to 44,500 m² since its 2012 launch, growing through Lebanon's 2019–2020 financial collapse and the August 2020 port blast that affected its neighbourhood. The district currently hosts roughly 100 tenant companies, well short of the 500-company capacity originally envisioned. In April 2022, Beirut Digital District partnered with the World Bank to launch "Skilling Up Lebanon," a three-year programme aiming to train approximately 9,500 young women and men in digital skills with industry-recognised certifications.
