Algeria's Ministry of Post and Telecommunications launched a nationwide digital-skills programme in May 2026 offering age-tailored tracks from 7 to 77 years old through seven regional skills centres, drawing over 64,500 citizen registrations within days of launch.
Launched under Algeria's broader 'Digital Algeria 2030' strategy, the programme responds to the need for nationwide, age-inclusive digital-skills provision spanning children through senior citizens.
Deliver seven progressive, age-tailored digital-skills tracks — from 'Tech Discovery' (ages 7-10) to 'Senior Tech' — each including mandatory cybersecurity and fraud-awareness content, as part of the Digital Algeria 2030 strategy.
Delivered via hybrid in-person and remote learning at seven regional skills centres (Algiers, Oran, Annaba, Setif, Chlef, Saida, Adrar), in partnership with national telecom operators Algerie Telecom and Mobilis; launched by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, May 2026.
Over 64,500 citizen registrations were recorded within days of launch, with Algiers alone accounting for more than 15,000, ahead of Oran, Blida, Setif and Batna.
As the programme launched only weeks before this record was compiled, no independent evaluation of training completion, skills gained or employment outcomes yet exists; the entry should be revisited once a full year of delivery has been completed.
