In April 2026, South Korea's National Assembly launched an AI-Powered Parliamentary Support Platform built by IT services firm Samsung SDS on its "FabriX" generative-AI stack. The system combines large and small language models with a National-Assembly-specific custom model, a retrieval-augmented-generation (RAG) pipeline, and an LLMOps framework, and is hosted on-premises inside the Assembly's own data centre for security and data control.
The platform bundles three linked services: an "AI Assistant" chatbot that supports policy queries, document drafting and meeting-minutes summarisation; "Intelligent Search", a natural-language semantic search spanning materials from roughly 320 internal and external organisations; and a "Legislative Bill Service" that recommends comparable or precedent bills and matches statutory clauses to support drafting work.
Phase 1, reported to be valued at roughly KRW 11.7 billion, serves about 5,000 lawmakers and aides and is the first stage of a three-phase project running through 2027. This is a very recent, vendor-led rollout: reporting so far comes chiefly from Samsung SDS's own announcement and one independent Korean trade-press outlet, and no independent (non-vendor) evaluation of accuracy, adoption or productivity impact has yet been published — a limitation this entry flags explicitly.
