Context

Latvia's e-Skills for Jobs campaign began with a 2013 memorandum of cooperation establishing the national 'E-skills partnership,' signed by multiple ministries, industry associations and chambers of commerce, formalising joint efforts on ICT skills for the labour market.

Objectives

Raise citizen awareness of the need to improve ICT skills for work and daily life, and promote uptake of e-government, e-commerce and digital literacy opportunities across government, NGO and industry channels.

Activities

An annual national Digital Week campaign covering topics such as digital transformation of society and companies, digital identity, digital skills for future work, women in digital/IT, cybersecurity awareness, and critical thinking/media literacy, delivered in partnership with the Cultural Information Systems Centre, Latvian State Radio and Television Center, and Microsoft.
