In 2009 Slovenia conducted its first study of equal opportunities within its diplomatic service, surveying diplomats' views on gender equality, discrimination and work-life balance.
The study identified five overlapping factors — power, culture, awareness, family and harassment — where women diplomats reported unequal positions relative to men.
