Context

Experience AI, launched in April 2023 by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with Google DeepMind, is a free AI-literacy curriculum for 11-14 year-olds, with lesson plans, classroom activities and educator training in multiple languages.

Results

By 2025, more than 30,000 educators across 180+ countries had completed the training (an estimated 2.9 million young people reached) with 700,000+ resource downloads. Post-programme self-report surveys found 93% of educators said the training increased their AI knowledge and 89% of students said they better understood AI/ML — self-reported figures with no randomised control group. Experience AI was named a 2025 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize laureate.
