Context

Registered as a society in 1992, FITT (Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer) is IIT Delhi's interface between academic research and industry, managing IP protection, technology licensing and startup incubation.

Results

Over two decades, FITT has filed more than 200 IPR applications and, per an independent peer-reviewed case study, aided the licensing of around 40 IIT Delhi technologies over ten years, with close to 15 spin-offs graduated and another 15 startups resident in its incubation facility; by FY2014-15 it had built accumulated reserves of roughly INR 356 million.
