Context

Lancée en juillet 2024 par le ministère éthiopien de l'Innovation et de la Technologie avec le gouvernement des Émirats arabes unis, l'initiative Five Million Ethiopian Coders vise à former cinq millions de jeunes au développement web, Android, à l'IA et à la science des données sur trois ans, avec des quotas d'inscription régionaux suivis de manière centralisée.

Results

En mars 2025, plus de 580 000 citoyens s'étaient inscrits (environ 12 % de l'objectif en moins d'un an), 78 800 avaient obtenu une certification d'ici décembre 2024, et le programme a facilité un emploi à distance pour 12 875 diplômés au cours des quatre premiers mois de l'exercice 2025/26.
