The Katingan Mentaya project conserves tropical peatland in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, under the Verra VCS and CCB Gold standards, working with local partner villages and protecting habitat for the Bornean orangutan.
The project covers 157,875 ha and is verified at about 7.5 million tCO2e of avoided emissions per year, engaging 39 partner villages and protecting over 5% of the remaining Bornean orangutan population.
