Mexico's voluntary NMX-R-025-SCFI-2015 standard certifies workplaces on pay equity and non-discrimination across 14 requirements. A decade on, 776 workplaces are certified, covering over 1,054,000 workers (47% women), though independent pay-gap outcome data is scarce.
Mexico's NMX-R-025-SCFI-2015 standard, published by STPS with CONAPRED and INMUJERES since October 2015, is a voluntary labour-equality and non-discrimination certification for workplaces of any size.
To certify, a workplace must score at least 70 of 100 points across 14 requirements covering recruitment, pay equity, violence prevention, inclusive language and family-friendly policies, audited by accredited bodies.
Ten years on, the government reported 776 certified workplaces as of October 2025, covering more than 1,054,000 workers, 47% of whom are women, with 101 additional workplaces recognised in 2025 alone.
The scheme measures adoption of equality processes, not verified pay-gap closure; no independent study of wage outcomes at certified workplaces was found.
