Since 2025, Georgian bank TBC, the Georgian AI Association (GAIA) and TBC-founded Business and Technology University have run a national AI Olympiad and skills pipeline reaching 1,000+ students; Georgia's team won 4 medals at the 2026 Central European AI Olympiad.
TBC, Georgia's largest bank and technology company, partners with the Georgian Artificial Intelligence Association (GAIA) and Business and Technology University (BTU, founded by TBC) to run the 'Tech Olympiads Hub,' a multi-tier AI skills pipeline for school and university students launched in 2025.
The Hub aims to build a national AI talent pipeline by combining preparatory courses, a competitive Olympiad, ongoing clubs and hackathons, and to grow applied AI literacy among both students and TBC's own workforce.
Programmes include an AI Olympiad Preparatory Course, the National AI Olympiad (open to grades VIII–XII), an AI Student Club, AI and Tech School sessions, GAIA Horizons meetups, and national AI hackathons, all offered free of charge across Georgia's regions. Separately, TBC's internal AI Literacy initiative has trained more than 4,000 company employees in applied AI use since 2025.
More than 1,000 school students, university students and young professionals have accessed the Hub's programmes since launch. At the Central European AI Olympiad in July 2026, Georgia's national team won four medals (one gold, two silver, one bronze), placing 4th among 25 competing European countries, and eight students were preparing to represent Georgia at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) in Kazakhstan.
The evidence base is still young: only two annual cycles (2025–2026) have been publicly reported, and the Olympiad format inherently selects and rewards already high-performing students rather than measuring broad-based learning gains; no independent evaluation of the underlying curriculum has been published.
