Naveenta — Street Child and Karkhana Samuha's AI-Inclusive STEM Pathway for Marginalised Girls in Nepal's Madhesh Province

Madhesh Province is among Nepal's most economically disadvantaged and gender-unequal regions, with limited access to digital and STEM education for girls in public schools.

Naveenta ("innovation") is delivered by the international NGO Street Child in partnership with the Nepali digital-education organisation Karkhana Samuha, and funded by the telecommunications group Liberty Global. Announced in March 2025, the pilot brings a STEM curriculum — Creative Coding, Web App Development, and Design & Visual Communication, with generative-AI tools embedded in the coursework — to 500 marginalised girls across 40 public schools in grades 6-12, alongside dedicated AI-safety and ethics workshops and online AI-safety resources for participants.

Street Child and Karkhana Samuha state a long-term goal of feeding the programme's model into Madhesh Province's local government policy on women and girls in STEM. As of the most recent public reporting, no independent outcome or skills-assessment data has been published, and no funding-amount figure has been disclosed.
