Context

As part of the five-year (2020–2025) Partnership for Open, Distance and Flexible Learning in the Pacific, the Commonwealth of Learning and PACFOLD ran a March 2024 workshop in Honiara training 90 STEM teachers to adapt Open Educational Resources using a 'Teacher-in-the-Loop AI' methodology, with teachers as the final check on accuracy and cultural relevance.

Results

The programme reports 90 teachers trained with resources peer-reviewed within the workshop and ongoing online/in-person mentorship, alongside comparable training delivered in Fiji and Tonga, but no independent evaluation of downstream classroom use or student learning outcomes has been published for the Solomon Islands cohort.
