Registre d'Algorismes — Catalonia's Public Registry of Government AI Systems and Algorithms

In November 2025 the Departament de Presidència of the Generalitat de Catalunya launched the Registre de sistemes d'intel·ligència artificial i altres algorismes, a public online registry of the AI systems and algorithmic tools used by the Catalan administration, published as open data via analisi.transparenciacatalunya.cat.
The registry opened with 31 published systems — ranging from traffic-camera systems detecting seatbelt and mobile-phone use to tools processing electric-vehicle and solar-panel subsidy applications and forecasting 112 emergency-call volumes — each with a record covering purpose, scope, data used, technical process, identified risks, mitigation measures, and development status (active, testing, or in development).
The registry explicitly goes beyond the EU AI Act's mandatory disclosure for high-risk systems, also covering limited-risk and purely deterministic (rule-based) algorithms, positioning it as one of the more comprehensive sub-national algorithm registers in Europe — though, given its recent launch, its real-world effect on accountability has not yet been independently evaluated.
