Context

SABI-Woman is Sightsavers Nigeria's disability-inclusive strand of the FCDO-funded, UNICEF-coordinated Girls' Education and Skills Partnership, delivered in Kano and Lagos states with local partners Project Enable Africa and the Kanawa Educational Foundation for the Disabled, giving adolescent girls and young women with disabilities market-relevant employability, entrepreneurship and life skills.

Results

2,878 adolescent girls and young women with disabilities were reached overall: 1,512 received employability/entrepreneurship training and 1,366 received life-skills and career guidance; 670 women received business starter kits worth over 40 million naira, with 88% of that seed capital repaid. A follow-on cohort of 70 Lagos women received a further 4.7 million naira in seed grants in December 2024.
