Tuk-Tam — Bulgaria's Diaspora Return Network for Career Talent

Tuk-Tam ("Here-There" in Bulgarian) is a non-governmental association founded in Sofia in 2008 by social entrepreneur Hristo Boyadzhiev, himself a returnee, to help young, educated Bulgarians who studied or worked abroad reconnect with employers and opportunities at home. It runs the annual "Career in Bulgaria" job fair — the first of its kind aimed specifically at returnees — alongside a scholarship fund and a digital "Guide to Bulgaria" platform for people considering a move back.

By its own reporting, Tuk-Tam has invested more than €80,000 (210,000 Bulgarian lev raised from over 700 donors) in 22 scholarships, helped roughly 14,000 people find career paths or launch careers through its job fairs, and reaches an estimated 200,000 Bulgarians through its online community and social channels. The organisation has grown from a volunteer initiative to a ten-person team with an office in Sofia, with funding support including the America for Bulgaria Foundation.

Independent Balkan Insight and Bulgarian National Radio reporting corroborates the organisation's activities and reputation as a hub for returnee Bulgarians, and the U.S. Foreign Service Association has cited it as a public-diplomacy case study. However, Tuk-Tam's headline reach and placement figures are self-reported by the organisation rather than externally audited, so they should be read as engagement indicators rather than verified employment outcomes.
