WCTT — Wrocław Centre for Technology Transfer

WCTT (Wrocławskie Centrum Transferu Technologii), founded in 1995 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology via the EU PHARE-TEMPUS project "Bridging the Gap Between University and Industry" (with the University of Stuttgart and a London university), is widely cited as Poland's first university technology-transfer centre. It runs technology audits, EU funding-application support, SME consulting and training, and spin-out formation support.
An official Politechnika Wrocławska 20th-anniversary release (2015) reports ~42,000 people trained, 30,000+ consultations, 478 technology audits, 469 EU Commission funding applications assisted, 162 enterprises helped establish, and 303 SME R&D implementation projects financed. An independent knowledge-base profile (Sektor Innowacji, ~2021) reports cumulative totals of ~59,000 people trained, ~38,000 consultations, 645 technology/design audits, 690+ EC funding applications assisted, 174 international technology-transfer agreements, 85 commercialised research results, and the same 162 established enterprises — broadly consistent growth, serving roughly 1,000 firms and 2,000 scientists a year.
Independent academic literature on Polish technology transfer more broadly (not specific to WCTT) describes persistently weak science-business links nationally, with institutions stronger at basic research than commercialisation, and underfunding and management gaps cited as structural barriers — context worth reading WCTT's own numbers against.
