WizdomCRM AI Tutor Platform — A Cautionary Pilot in Ten Catholic Primary Schools, Trinidad and Tobago

WizdomCRM Caribbean Ltd partnered with the Catholic Education Board of Management (CEBM), which oversees Trinidad and Tobago's Roman Catholic primary schools, to pilot an AI tutoring app across ten schools: Belmont Boys' RC, Toco RC, Mayaro RC, St Dominic's RC (Morvant), Mt Lambert RC, Carapo RC, Erin RC, Caratal RC, Maracas RC and Caparo RC.

The platform features eight animated AI characters covering English, mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish and other subjects, designed for flexible use at school or at home. CEBM announced an evaluation comparing Term I–II grades (September 2023–March 2024) against performance during the Term III pilot (April–July 2024), alongside pre/post questionnaires and teacher monitoring.

WizdomCRM sponsored places for 300 Standard One to Three students, but only 194 registered, and the 33 tablets donated to schools arrived only in the pilot's third term. The '15% improvement in academic performance' figure that circulated in Trinidad's press does not come from this pilot: it is drawn from an unrelated case study by UniDistance Suisse on a separate deployment. As of mid-2025, over a year after the pilot ended, no results specific to the ten Trinidad schools had been published, including in later local coverage of AI in Trinidadian classrooms.

This practice is included as a cautionary case rather than a proven success: a defined evaluation methodology was announced, enrollment fell short of target, and the headline 'impact' figure attributed to the programme in local press coverage was in fact imported from an unrelated study. It illustrates a pattern common to commercially driven school AI pilots, and is scored accordingly on the strength of its evidence.
