Luxembourg's AI4T pathway recruited 19 modern-languages and maths teachers from 14 schools for a blended MOOC, webinar and face-to-face course; not randomised, descriptive evaluation. 7 of 10 respondents rated their AI knowledge good or very good, up from 2.

Description
Luxembourg was one of five countries in the Erasmus+ AI4T project (Artificial Intelligence for and by Teachers), coordinated by France Éducation international, with the University of Luxembourg as work-package partner for evaluation. Teachers followed a pathway built on the common AI4T MOOC (Inria) and the open textbook 'AI for Teachers', with a guided pace, online group sessions and face-to-face sessions. The textbook was introduced in a session; tools shown included Microsoft Office AI features, ChatGPT, DALL-E and Duolingo. Participants also prepared activities and shared them with peers. Recruitment ran from October 2022 to January 2023 and reached 19 teachers (12 modern languages, 7 maths) in 14 schools. Unlike the other four countries, Luxembourg did not randomise schools, and the sample was too small for impact analysis, so the evaluation is descriptive: 10 teachers completed the survey and all intervention teachers were invited to interview. Reported results: 100% completed the webinars and face-to-face sessions partially or fully; 70% used the textbook; 7 of 10 respondents rated their AI knowledge good or very good afterwards, versus 2 at the start (Luxembourg teachers began with higher knowledge than other countries); perceived usefulness was 5.7 of 7 and social engagement 4.1 of 7. Caveats: no control group, volunteer participants, 10 survey respondents and self-reported outcomes; across the wider project the pathway raised knowledge but did not significantly change perceptions or classroom use of AI.
