Argentina's National Pilot Cuts Judicial Task Times by Up to 90% with Generative AI

Argentina's Ministerio de Justicia, through the Sistema Argentino de Informacion Juridica (SAIJ) and the National Program of Artificial Intelligence in Justice, ran a "Pilot Program for the Strategic and Responsible Use of Generative AI" across the country's judiciary in 2024-2025, partnering with university AI labs including UBA-IALAB, ALTA, JusLab and the UNLZ Innovation Laboratory.
The pilot tested generative AI tools with judges, prosecutors and court staff nationwide, running 1,007 structured test cases (three trials each) and roughly 3,000 prompts, and surveyed close to 5,000 members of the judicial system, of whom 81% rated the experience positively.
On complex analytical tasks, such as identifying the grounds (agravios) in a recurso de amparo, AI-assisted work cut completion time from 25 minutes to about 2.5 minutes while retaining roughly 77% of the quality benchmark, and jurisprudence searches were sped up by around 90%.
These are preliminary, self-reported results from the implementing program rather than an independently audited evaluation, and the source material does not disclose error or false-positive rates for the AI outputs, so the figures should be read as promising pilot-stage indicators rather than a rigorously externally validated impact assessment.
