Beeline Academy × TIUE — Uzbekistan's Nationwide AI and Cybersecurity Training for Computer-Science Teachers

Uzbekistan lacked a large-scale, telecom-backed programme training in-service teachers to use AI tools in the classroom. In October 2023, Beeline Uzbekistan (part of the VEON group) opened Beeline Academy at the Tashkent International University of Education (TIUE), investing $150,000 in IT-education capacity as part of its 'AI1440' corporate strategy.
The academy ran a four-week, remote, interactive course — delivered in Uzbek and Russian — teaching computer-science, mathematics and physics teachers to prepare lessons, assignments and tests with AI, explain material using digital tools, analyse student errors and apply cybersecurity fundamentals. More than 1,000 teachers from every region of Uzbekistan applied; more than 750 completed the course and received professional-development certificates.
The academy has since run multiple further cohorts, with TIUE reporting close to 1,000 cumulative completions by September 2025 — evidence of a sustained, multi-year initiative rather than a one-off. No independent measurement of classroom impact has been published.
