Context

In April 2026, the Togolese government, led by Minister of Public Sector Efficiency and Digital Transformation Cina Lawson, launched Campus 42 Lome at the University of Lome -- the first campus of the international 42 Network to open in West Africa.

Activities

The campus uses the 42 Network's signature model: no teachers, no lectures, no tuition fees and no formal academic qualifications required for admission, with peer-to-peer, project-based learning in programming, data science and artificial intelligence. It is financially and technically supported by the Axian Group (through its Togo subsidiary), the 42 Network, France and the European Union, and the government says the campus will train "hundreds" of Togolese youth annually.

Conclusions

As a newly launched initiative, Campus 42 Lome has not yet published enrolment, completion or learning-outcome figures, so its results cannot yet be independently verified; the practice is recorded here at the pilot/launch stage.
