Context

Tech4Dev, a Nigerian non-profit founded in 2016, launched the Women Techsters Fellowship in 2017: a free 12-month programme (6 months training, 6 months internship/entrepreneurship support) for women and girls aged 16-40, with Data Science and AI Engineering as one of seven specialisation tracks.

Results

Since 2017 the fellowship has reached 124,000+ women and girls across ~30 African countries and 263 cities. In one reported cohort, 14,782 women applied, 1,398 were accepted and 847 graduated (~61% completion); Tech4Dev reports 73% of graduates secure tech jobs within six months.
