Context

On 19 September 2025, Argentina's Buenos Aires Province Public Ministry (Ministerio Público, Procuración General) issued Resolution PG No. 1475/25, approving a regulatory framework for generative-AI use across the province's prosecutorial and public-defense offices. The resolution designates ChatIA — an in-house platform built by the Ministry's Secretariat of Innovation and Digital Experience — as the only authorised interface through which judicial agents may interact with large language models, replacing ad hoc use of public consumer chatbots.

Activities

ChatIA supports document drafting, editing and summarisation for judicial staff, with centralised user administration, encrypted communications, and logging of interactions for audit. The first phase piloted the tool in five offices: the Prosecution before the Cassation Court, the Bahía Blanca and Mercedes Chamber Prosecutions, the Departmental Public Defense office of Moreno–General Rodríguez, and the Advisory Office for Minors and Incapacitated Persons No. 2 in Lomas de Zamora.

Conclusions

The framework is explicitly staged: a pilot period, followed by an evaluation for expansion, then continuous monitoring against efficiency, work-quality and cybersecurity indicators. As of the Ministry's own announcement and independent coverage, the programme had not yet published performance results — its evidentiary strength currently rests on the rigor of its governance design rather than measured outcomes.
