Civil-Service AI Training Programme — Moldova's E-Government Agency Rolls Out Generative-AI Skills for Public Officials

In April 2025, Moldova's Electronic Governance Agency (Agenția de Guvernare Electronică, AGE) announced an AI-skills training programme for civil servants, delivered with the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC), Google's 'Experience AI' curriculum, and the State Chancellery, under Government Decision no. 166/2025 establishing a Professional Development Programme for Civil Servants for 2025-2027.

The training covers AI fundamentals, prompt-writing, and using generative AI to draft administrative documents and official correspondence, aimed initially at around 500 officials. AGE's own post-programme reporting in June 2025 put actual participation at over 1,000 public officials across two online cohorts of 500+, delivered in five thematic sessions. AGE has also stated publicly, including at the September 2025 launch of a Moldova AI Hub, that it was the first public institution in the country to define an internal AI-use policy governing its own work processes, though no separate published policy document was found to verify that specific claim independently.
