Non-profits The Tipping Point and 100mentors trained 1,123 teachers (27 subjects, 13 regions, mostly rural/island) in generative AI via self-paced modules, live sessions and a mentoring app; self-reported GenAI use rose from 46.7% to 93.2%.
The GenAI Education Frontier is a public-private programme run by the non-profits The Tipping Point and 100mentors, targeting teachers in rural, island and remote areas of Greece. The first cycle reached 1,123 teachers from 13 regions and 27 subjects.
Training combines a self-directed 'GenAI in Education' course (videos and quizzes), a two-hour live session tailored to each teacher's subject, a GenAI-based mentoring app and an open library of roughly 500–568 prompts in Greek, also translated into English. According to data.org, 919 educators were certified (81.9% of enrolled participants received a GenAI Foundations certificate).
The EU Digital Skills & Jobs Platform reports that the share of teachers using GenAI tools for educational purposes rose from 46.7% before training to 93.2% after, with an average satisfaction rating of 4.65/5, based on pre- and post-training assessments. The programme won the data.org Generative AI Skills Challenge supported by Microsoft.
Caveats: the figures are self-reported adoption and satisfaction, not measured changes in teaching quality or pupil learning; no independent evaluation or funding amount was found, and funnel numbers differ slightly across sources.
