Context

The Dutch Gender Balance Act, approved by the Senate in September 2021 and in force since 1 January 2022, imposes an ingrowth quota of at least one-third women and one-third men on supervisory boards of Dutch listed companies — appointments that do not improve balance are null and void — and requires about 5,000 large public and private companies to set ambitious gender-diversity targets with action plans.
