‘Going all inclusive’ is a program framework for the development and delivery of a collaborative digital program. An area (i.e. Selby District) is analyzed, assessment is made of existing DI projects, and gaps where people’s needs are not being met. The program seeks to bring to
Peter, CEO of Yorcoms and creator of 'Going All Inclusive', has worked in digital inclusion since its inception and observed that many DI initiatives fail due to little focus on sustainability, outcomes or evaluation. He developed a hierarchy of digital need based on Maslow's concept of need, addressing each level systematically, as the basis for this programme in the district of Selby, UK — an area where too many people and businesses lack the knowledge, skills or opportunity to engage with the digital world, at a time when services such as Universal Credit require people to be online.
The programme analyses an area's existing digital-inclusion activity and gaps, then brings together existing activities and new stakeholders to build a comprehensive, collaborative programme addressing every digital-inclusion barrier systematically. It is properly costed to guarantee sustainability before funding is sourced to roll it out. Hoped-for stakeholders include AVS (association of voluntary services), Age Concern, Good Things Foundation, RNIB, Big Local, and local councils, schools, colleges and businesses.
