Description

On 11 September 2019, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration signed an agreement with Samsung India to develop a 71,000 m² Miyawaki-method forest in Greater Noida, planting roughly 200,000 native saplings under Samsung's corporate social responsibility programme; Samsung committed to fund maintenance for 10 years. Officials described it as potentially the country's largest Miyawaki forest at the time, part of a wider district goal to raise Gautam Buddh Nagar's forest cover from about 1.5% toward India's 33% target, including a plan to convert 250 acres to forest.
The district had already tested the method on a smaller, 3,500 m² plot at its Collectorate compound, reporting "satisfactory" growth before committing to the larger site.
