Description

Orange Digital Center Guinea-Bissau was inaugurated in Bissau in June/July 2024, becoming the 26th centre in Orange's Africa-Middle East-Europe network and the group's first dedicated digital-inclusion hub in the country.
It follows Orange's standard model — a free coding school, a Solidarity FabLab fabrication workshop, an Orange Fab start-up accelerator, and support from the Orange Ventures Africa investment fund — run by Orange Bissau under parent company Sonatel Group, with stated plans for Digital Center Clubs at universities in the Canchungo region.
Coverage at launch focused on the inauguration and programme structure; unlike Orange's centres in Guinea and elsewhere, no trainee counts, placement figures, or CSR-report follow-up data specific to Guinea-Bissau were found as of mid-2026, so its measurable impact cannot yet be independently assessed.
It is included here as a transparent, early-stage case: a real, operating facility with credible institutional backing, but one still awaiting published evidence of reach or outcomes.
