Context

In remote areas of Hungary, like the village and smaller vicinity of Alsómocsolád, active or inactive adults and seniors lack the knowledge and skills for using ICT even at the telecentre (only with help from telecentre operators). In rural areas of Hungary, especially smaller villages, digital literacy is very low, although internet use would help overcome many problems, such as needing to travel to towns to reach specific services and facilities.

Objectives

The programme aims to develop digital literacy among the least digitally active adults and seniors through trainings and community programs, expanding their possibilities and chances across life areas such as finding jobs and using internet services like internet banking, to help overcome the digital divide.

Activities

Training and community programs using telecentre technology, with teachers as the stakeholders involved.
