Context

Professional Women's Network (PWN) Romania, founded in 2011 and based in Bucharest, is the Romanian chapter of PWN Global, a volunteer-led offline and online network and leadership development platform for professional women, bringing together members from across Romania working in over 20 industries.

Objectives

The mentoring programme seeks to promote and improve the economic power of women by supporting them in developing their own projects and careers.

Activities

PWN Romania organises its work around three pillars — Mentoring, Entrepreneurship, and Women on Boards. Members can participate as a mentor or mentee in mentoring programmes run both locally and internationally, in which a person with relevant knowledge and experience shares skills to support another person's personal and professional development. Members also get access to the wider PWN Global network and database, and to programmes such as the Women On Boards Academy and The Entrepreneur's Toolkit.

Results

As part of PWN Global, the network reports more than 3,500 members of over 90 nationalities and hosts more than 600 volunteer-led events per year across 24 cities; these figures describe the wider PWN Global network rather than the Romanian chapter specifically.
