SK01The Slovak National Centre for Human Rights (the Centre) is an independent legal entity and Slovakia's designated national equality body, mandated to promote equal treatment and combat discrimination; gender-equality research and reporting is also carried out by the Institute for Labour and Family Research, the Slovak Academy of Sciences and feminist NGOs.
As Slovakia's designated equality body, the Centre aims to ensure observance of the equal-treatment principle, generate reliable human-rights and gender-equality data, and raise awareness and leadership capacity through education and information campaigns.
The Centre monitors and evaluates observance of human rights and the equal-treatment principle, conducts research and surveys to provide human-rights data, gathers and distributes related information, and prepares educational activities and information campaigns aimed at increasing equal leadership. In 2023, the Institute for Labour and Family Research's most notable publications covered flexible forms of work and health and safety, and childcare from a gender-equality perspective.
The source material describes the Centre's statutory mandate and activities, and notes contributions from partner research bodies, but the source material itself states that no formal outcome evaluation has been identified for these activities.
