The Digital School – Teacher Preparation Programme in Seychelles

The Digital School, an initiative under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (Dubai, UAE), launched a new phase of its Teacher Preparation Programme in Seychelles in June 2026, in partnership with the UAE Government Experience Exchange Programme office and Seychelles' Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
The new phase targets around 100 teachers across 11 schools, bringing the cumulative number of Seychellois teachers trained through the programme to 395. Training covers blended and remote digital-classroom methods, delivered through a platform accredited by the US-based New England Commission of Higher Education and offered in seven languages. Globally, The Digital School reports having reached over 850,000 beneficiaries and trained around 40,000 teachers across more than 40 countries since its 2020 launch.
Reporting on the Seychelles rollout is limited to participation figures released jointly by the programme and government partners; no independent evaluation of resulting classroom practice or student learning outcomes in Seychelles has been published.
