Context

The Technology Transfer Act of 2009 (Republic Act 10055) created a national legal framework for Philippine state universities to commercialise publicly funded research. In 2011 the University of the Philippines System restructured its former Technology Licensing Office into the Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) to implement the Act across its Diliman, Manila, Los Baños and Mindanao campuses.
