Context — Launched on 6 April 2022 by the Supreme People's Court in partnership with Viettel Group, the "Virtual Assistant for Judges" is a 24/7 AI tool built on Viettel AI's Vietnamese-language platform, integrating more than 173,000 legal documents, over 1.4 million judgments and around 22,000 crowd-sourced legal Q&A entries so judges can search law, precedent and similar rulings in natural language.
Rollout — The launch included a nationwide training programme reaching over 5,000 delegates across all 63 of Vietnam's provinces and cities and more than 800 court connection points, with over 100 judges and legal experts validating its content before go-live.
Evidence — By the government's own reporting, the assistant has fielded nearly 6 million queries since 2022, averaging 10,000–15,000 a day, and is credited with saving an estimated 37 billion VND (about US$1.45 million) a year in judicial time.
