Research Luxembourg's 'Women & Girls in Science' is a video series launched in 2022 to raise public awareness of the challenges women face in scientific careers and to showcase the achievements of women researchers in Luxembourg, addressing their underrepresentation in research leadership and decision-making roles.
The initiative aims to increase the visibility of women in science, empower women and girls through stories of success and perseverance, promote a more inclusive scientific landscape, and inspire young girls to pursue scientific careers.
The series has released three editions since 2022, each featuring six videos plus a trailer profiling women from different institutions, disciplines and career stages — from PhD candidates and lab specialists to science communicators and professors — covering both their professional achievements and personal journeys.
The first edition alone garnered over 550,000 viewers and received widespread positive feedback on social media.
