UN Women's Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Jordan Network grew from 50 signatory companies in 2021 to 256 by 2025, covering 100,000+ employees; signatories recruited 5,000+ women in one year (56% of new hires) and raised women's board representation to 48%.
Launched in January 2022 by UN Women Jordan with the Jordanian National Commission for Women and the UN Global Compact, the WEPs Jordan Network invites private-sector companies to sign the seven Women's Empowerment Principles and adopt fair hiring, pay-equity and promotion measures.
The network grew from 50 signatory companies in 2021 to 256 by 2025, representing over 100,000 employees; in the most recent reporting year signatories recruited over 5,000 women (56% of new hires), with women's representation in supervisory roles rising to 32% and on executive boards to 48%, up from a 33% baseline.
Because signing the Principles is voluntary and self-declared, results likely vary company to company; the figures are not drawn from an external audit of every signatory.
