Wrocław Technology Park — Poland's largest tech park cluster by number of companies

Wrocław Technology Park (WTP) is a network of five innovation parks in Wrocław, Poland, managed by Wrocławski Park Technologiczny S.A. and operating as a Special Economic Zone. Founded in 1998 with support from the City of Wrocław, Lower Silesia region, and national authorities, it hosts companies across IT, biotechnology, electronics, power engineering, medicine, cryogenics, nanotechnology, and chemistry in a total infrastructure of 216,500 m².

2023 results (Invest in Wrocław / PAIH): 635 companies operating across the five parks, of which 150 are new tenants (mainly high-tech startups admitted in 2023); 7,400+ total employees; 2,600 new specialised jobs created since 2019; PLN 1.7 billion in total R&D project value; 92 patents and 14 utility models filed; 95% of companies generate active product/service revenue; average annual company revenue of PLN 8.1 million. WTP is Poland's largest technology park by number of companies.

Support model: nine areas of service including business incubators, state-of-the-art laboratory and R&D facilities, specialised consulting, and academic entrepreneurship programmes. WTP is a member of IASP.

Why it is a good practice: WTP demonstrates that a legacy city (Wrocław, former communist industrial centre) can systematically build a diversified tech park ecosystem across five campus locations, achieving national leadership in company count, employment, and R&D investment intensity within 25 years.
