Context

On 1 June 2026, Albania's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development presented YLLI, the country's first AI-powered virtual assistant built specifically for farmers, at the 'Digital Agriculture for Albania 2030' conference in Tirana.

Objectives

Minister Andis Salla framed the launch as part of a shift toward technology-reliant agriculture, citing pressure from climate change, rising production costs, market competition and EU accession standards.

Activities

YLLI is built into Albania's existing Farmer's Portal and communicates in Albanian. It answers real-time queries about the 2026 National Support Scheme, publishes market and collection-point prices, and is linked to plot-level monitoring from field sensors tracking irrigation, fertilisation and weather.
