Igualdade de género em Portugal – Boletim Estatístico 2022

This annual report aims to identify and disseminate statistical data that reflect women and men in Portugal, in various areas of life in society: population; health; education, training and science; digitalization and Information and Communication Technology (ICT); work and employment; power and decision making; reconciling professional, personal, and family life; poverty and social protection; gender violence and LGBTI. The document continues an instrument that the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) has made available since 1980, on the 2nd United Nations World Conference on Women. At the same time, it fulfills one of the strategic objectives of the Beijing Platform for Action, 1995, which refers to the need to produce and disseminate data and information disaggregated by sex, essential for the performance and implementation of more adequate and fair public policies.

Why it's a good practice: The document aims to identify and disseminate statistical data that reflect the realities of women's and men, giving continuity to an instrument that the Commission for Citizenship and Equality of Gender (CIG) has been making available, since 1980, on the occasion of the 2nd. World Conference on Women of the United Nations. At the same time, it fulfils one of the strategic objectives of Beijing Platform of Action, 1995, which refers to the need to produce and disseminate data and information disaggregated by sex, essential for the performance and implementation of more appropriate and fair public policies.
