Lalitpur hosts multiple initiatives addressing accessibility and gender equity in Nepal. The Girls in ICT Day Nepal programme launched in Lalitpur on 23 May 2025, targeting girls aged 12–24 in response to women comprising only 7.88% of Nepal's ICT workforce. OLE Nepal, headquartered in Lalitpur, developed the OLEN i-OCR tool to convert scanned documents into screen-reader-compatible formats, and deployed it to four schools for visually-impaired students in the Kathmandu Valley in early 2024. Sundar Dhoka Saatti Sewa, a disability-led organisation based in Lalitpur, was awarded AT2030 Frontiers seed funding in December 2025 to establish assistive-technology repair hubs across Nepal's seven provinces, though no completed repairs have yet been reported.
