Context

A partir de 2014, Beyond Access (IREX) y la Myanmar Book Aid and Preservation Foundation desplegaron un programa de inclusión digital en más de 100 bibliotecas, con un currículo de Alfabetización Informacional Móvil (Mobile Information Literacy) y la iniciativa Tech Age Girls, dirigida a reducir una brecha de 2:1 entre hombres y mujeres en el uso de la tecnología.

Results

Más de 63,000 personas visitaron las bibliotecas del programa; el 39% buscaba mejorar sus habilidades técnicas y el 18% utilizó la biblioteca para buscar empleo. La asociación Ericsson Connect to Learn llegó a 31 escuelas, 310 docentes y 34,000 estudiantes, con 600 becas para niñas. La IFLA reconoció el programa como un caso de éxito en 2018.

Conclusions

Las actividades se vieron gravemente afectadas tras el golpe militar de febrero de 2021; los resultados previos al golpe están bien documentados, pero no puede confirmarse la continuidad posterior a 2021.
