The Programa Pró-Equidade de Gênero e Raça is a Brazilian federal initiative, coordinated by the Secretariat for Women's Policies, now within the Ministério das Mulheres, and has existed since 2005. The 7th edition is run with the Ministry of Racial Equality, the Ministry of Labour, UN Women and the ILO. It aims to spread people-management practices that combat gender and racial discrimination and promote equality in formal employment and in access to leadership.
Participating employers sign a commitment agreement, adopt action plans and can earn the Selo Pró-Equidade de Gênero e Raça, the federal mark recognising equality initiatives in the workplace. In the 7th edition, 103 companies signed the agreement; the ministry reports that together they moved more than R$ 680 billion in the Brazilian economy in 2023.
UNDP's review of Latin American seals reported that over 235 companies and organisations had been certified under the programme, most of them public-sector, and described measures such as updating personnel records by sex and race, changing recruitment and promotion policies, and raising awareness on harassment.
Caveat: the sources describe participation and measures, not measured effects on pay gaps or representation, so impact is unevidenced. Participation is voluntary, and the 103 figure reflects signatories, not seal holders.
